A POET'S DEBUT?

My first published words came in the form of a limerick, published some fifty years ago in New West Magazine. For my trouble, I was given a year's subscription to the now defunct publication.

Though Don Juan was a scandalous sinner,

With the girls he might still be a winner

If he'd kept all his feats

In the realm between sheets

And not asked that statue to dinner.
